Is Welltory free? What you get for free, what Premium adds, and who needs which
Welltory is free to download and keeps a free version after the trial. What you can actually do with it every day, what Premium adds, why the 30-day data limit decides most of it, and how to try, cancel or get a refund.

Short answer
Yes, Welltory has a free version, and it does not expire. After the trial — typically three days of the full app — you keep one heart rate variability measurement a day with five core indexes, basic blood pressure analysis, sleep duration and breathing practices, according to Welltory's free trial guide (checked October 21, 2026). Whether the daily Health, Battery and Stress indicators stay free is covered in the table below. Premium adds depth and history: 21 metrics, unlimited measurements, sleep analysis, trends — and data kept past 30 days.
Who the free version is enough for: someone who wants one check-in a day and a quick read on how the body is coping. Who will feel the limits: anyone tracking something over weeks — recovery, a training block, blood pressure for a doctor, a pattern they cannot pin down — because on the free tier, data older than 30 days is deleted.
Before you blame yourself for "not sticking with tracking", check what you were actually able to see: a single day's number rarely explains anything on its own.

Note: product details on this page follow Welltory's Help Center as of October 21, 2026, with a link to the article behind each one. Where Help Center articles describe something differently, we link to both instead of choosing one. Plans, prices and the reader discount are covered separately on our page how much Welltory costs, and the plans page in the app is always the source of truth for current prices. Welltory is a general wellness product: it does not diagnose, treat or replace medical care.
Free vs Premium at a glance
This is the whole difference in one place. Prices are deliberately not here — they vary by country and change over time, and they live on the pricing page.

Health, Battery and Stress on the free version. What stays free after the trial can depend on your version and platform: the Help Center describes it in the free trial guide and in the Welltory Premium overview (both checked October 21, 2026) — check the Premium screen in your app.
What can you actually do with the free version every day?
More than most people expect, and enough to build a habit.
Take your morning check-in. One HRV measurement a day — with your phone camera, an Apple Watch, a Samsung Watch or a compatible chest strap — analysed with five core indexes. That is the reading that tells you, in plain terms, whether your nervous system went into the day rested or already under load. On the free version you cannot open the other sixteen metrics, but the core picture is there.
Health, Battery and Stress: check your app. These three daily indicators sit on the Today screen during the trial. Health is how your body is handling stress, Battery is the energy you have left before bedtime, and Stress is how well you are balancing activity and rest. What stays free after the trial can depend on your version and platform: the Help Center describes it in the free trial guide and in the Welltory Premium overview (both checked October 21, 2026) — check the Premium screen in your app. Weekly and monthly trends behind them are a Premium feature.
Keep logging. Tags, mood, weight and blood pressure readings can all be added by hand on the free version. Welltory does not measure blood pressure itself — you take a reading with a cuff and enter it — and the free version still gives you a simplified analysis based on three indexes.
Use the breathing practices. These stay fully available after the trial. On Android they live in the Practices section, grouped by goal (stress, sleep, focus, balance); on both platforms the app can nudge you towards one when it thinks you need it.
Take the tests. More than 50 questionnaires for physical and emotional state stay free, and you can repeat them as often as you like.
Keep your phone's health data flowing in. Syncing with Apple Health, Health Connect or Samsung Health continues on the free version, so the app still sees your steps, sleep and heart rate from other devices.
That is a genuinely usable daily routine. What it is not is a record — and that is the next section.
What do you lose when the free trial ends?
New accounts typically get a three-day (72-hour) trial of the whole app. The Help Center describes when those 72 hours start in two places — the free trial guide and the subscription guide, both checked October 21, 2026 — and, according to the subscription guide, the app shows how many trial days you have left. The safe plan either way: set the app up and take your first measurement on the day you install it.
When it ends, five things change:
Measurements drop to one a day, with five indexes instead of 21. The other indexes are locked and you cannot read about them.
Sleep becomes a number. You still see how long you slept, but not the analysis of how well you recovered.
Blood pressure analysis becomes basic. Logging continues; the detailed parameters do not.
Experiments switch off. You can no longer run a "measure, do something, measure again" test to see what a breathing session or a coffee does to you.
Your history starts rolling off. On the free version, data older than 30 days is deleted. Not archived — deleted.
The fifth one is the one that decides things for most people, so it gets its own section.
What the Premium Today screen looks like
Screenshots in this section come from the Welltory Help Center (Today Screen (iOS) and the Welltory Premium overview, checked October 22, 2026). They show the iPhone app; the Help Center lists the Today screen among Premium features on iOS, and some cards need a connected watch. Your screen may look different depending on your app version, device and plan.
Today screen
The Today screen is the home screen of the iPhone app. It puts Health at the top, then Battery, Stress, Sleep and Activity cards, and opens the detailed reports behind each one.

Health
Health sits at the top of the screen and shows how well you are coping with daily stress and workload, according to the Today Screen guide. The colour of the heart reflects your current state: green means your resources are restored, yellow or red means your body is under more strain than usual.

Battery
Battery shows how your energy changes through the day — what drains it and what restores it. The Help Center says activity that raises your heart rate discharges Battery, rest with a lower heart rate recharges it, and the morning level is based on your resting heart rate on waking and on how much and how well you slept.

Stress
Stress shows how well you are balancing activity and rest. According to the Premium overview, stress while you are sitting still raises your Stress level, while activity and movement lower it. It describes your body's load, not a medical condition.

Sleep Analysis
Sleep Analysis is a nightly report on the Today screen. The Help Center describes it for iPhone users who wear an Apple Watch or Oura at night; if you use another device, sleep analysis comes in your feed instead.

Activity Report
The Activity Report shows how much you moved during the day — active time and intense activity — and how your activity changes over time. According to the Activity Report guide, it is available to iPhone users with an Apple Watch.

Why the 30-day limit matters more than the feature list
Welltory reads your body by comparing today with your own normal. One morning's HRV means little; the same number against six weeks of your mornings means a lot. That is the reason the app exists, and it is also the line between free and Premium.
Thirty days is enough to see a month. It is not enough to see a change. You cannot tell that your resting heart rate never quite came back after an illness, that your sleep slips in the same weeks every winter, or that a new training plan has been grinding you down since spring, if the first half of the story has already been deleted.
So the honest rule is simple:
If you only ever look at today, the 30-day window costs you nothing.
If you have ever asked "has this been getting worse?", it costs you the answer.
Staying on free? Export your data. According to the Help Center's export guide (checked October 21, 2026), the Welltory web app lets you download any chart, or your full set of parameters, as a CSV file: log in with the same account, open Dashboard, pick a chart and a time range, and click Export. Do it before data rolls past 30 days if you want to keep it — once it is deleted, there is no undo. Our guide to exporting your health data shows what that file is useful for.
Is the free version enough for you?
Here is how it tends to play out, by what you are actually trying to do.
The free version is usually enough if:
You want a quick morning read on how your body is coping, and you will not open the details anyway.
You are curious about HRV and want to see what a daily measurement feels like before deciding anything.
You mainly use the breathing practices and the occasional test.
You already keep your long-term data somewhere else and only want Welltory for the daily snapshot.
You will probably feel the limits if:
You are tracking a change over time — recovery after an illness, a training block, a new sleep or work routine, a stressful season at work. That needs history beyond 30 days.
You want to know *why* a day went wrong. The comparison between days, the trends and the sleep analysis are where causes show up. On free you see the outcome, not the lead-up.
You measure more than once a day — morning and evening, before and after a workout, after a stressful meeting. Free allows one.
You log blood pressure for a doctor. The shareable blood pressure diary is part of Premium.
You want to test your own habits. Experiments — the "does this actually help me?" tool — are Premium after the trial.
And one case where Premium is not the point at all: if you are hoping an app will answer a medical question. Neither version diagnoses anything. Premium gives you a better record to bring to an appointment, not a verdict.
Is Welltory Premium worth it?
Only if you are going to use the history and the detail. That sounds obvious, but it is the most useful filter there is.
People who get their money's worth tend to have a question the daily score cannot answer: why the afternoons crash, what a late dinner does to their recovery, whether a new routine is helping or just feels virtuous. They open the 21 metrics, they look at the week, they tag what happened. For them, Premium is the part of the app that does the work.
People who do not get their money's worth open the app, read one number and close it. For them the free version already does the job, and paying will not make them look more.
Not sure which you are? Use the trial the way it is meant to be used: measure on day one, tag what happens over the three days, and open the full reports at least once. If you find yourself wanting to see "the last week", that is your answer.
Premium is not one fixed thing on every phone. According to the Welltory Premium overview (checked October 21, 2026), on iPhone, Sleep Analysis and the new Activity Report on the Today screen work with an Apple Watch; with another gadget, sleep analysis comes into your feed instead. On Android, the Activity Widget currently needs a Samsung Watch. If a specific report is the reason you are paying, check that it supports your setup.
Plans, current prices and the reader discount are all on our page about what Welltory costs — we keep them in one place so that they are not out of date in two.
How to try Premium without committing
There are three honest ways in.
The free trial. New accounts typically start with three days of the full app, according to the Help Center's free trial guide. Help Center articles describe the start of those 72 hours differently, so install the app on a day when you can actually use it: connect your watch or Apple Health, Health Connect or Samsung Health, take a measurement, and tag what you do.
A short paid route. If the trial is not offered to you, or three days were not enough, there is a weekly plan and a low-cost first week that continues as a three-month plan. Both are subscriptions: under Welltory's Terms of Use they renew automatically until you cancel, at the price and for the period shown at checkout, so read that line before you pay. Details are on the pricing page.
A trial that asks for your card is not the same thing. Under Welltory's Terms of Use, a trial turns into the paid plan unless you cancel before it ends. The free trial described in the Help Center ends in the free version, not in a paid plan; if a screen asks for payment details, it is offering a paid plan, and the renewal terms are shown there before you confirm.
The reader discount on a longer plan. Blog readers get a discount on Premium with the code `well_blog`. How much it is, and on which plans, is explained on the pricing page and shown on screen before you enter any payment details.
Before you buy anything, remember the one rule that matters: every Welltory subscription except lifetime renews automatically until you cancel it. Put a reminder in your calendar a few days before the renewal date — it is the single cheapest habit in subscription life.
How to cancel Welltory Premium, and what happens next
Cancelling is something you do yourself, at any time. The route depends on where you paid, as described in the Help Center's subscription guide (checked October 21, 2026):
App Store: cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date — Apple can charge for the next period within the last 24 hours.
Google Play: cancel in your Google Play subscriptions.
The Welltory website or a promo code: log in to the Welltory web app, open your subscriptions and click Cancel. Log in the same way you log in to the app — email, Apple ID, Google or Facebook — or you may land in a different account than the one you are paying for.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut you off today. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the app moves to the free version.
Refunds are separate from cancelling. For subscriptions bought on Google Play or the Welltory website, Welltory's refund policy (checked October 21, 2026) says: "Welltory only provides full refunds and only for annual subscriptions." Under that policy, a first subscription can be refunded if you ask within 14 days of payment, and an auto-renewed one within 48 hours of the renewal charge. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under Apple's terms. To ask, the policy points to support@welltory.com, written from the email you signed up with, or to Menu → Report a problem in the app.
Before your Premium runs out, export what you want to keep. Once you are back on the free version, data older than 30 days is deleted.
If you want to delete your account entirely, the subscription guide says you cannot do it yourself while a Premium subscription is still active: either wait for it to expire, or ask support to switch you to the free plan first.

How Welltory helps — and what it cannot do
Welltory is a general wellness app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, and neither the free version nor Premium replaces a clinician.
What it does is turn signals your body already produces into something you can read. On the free version, that is a daily snapshot: one measurement, the length of your night, the readings you log. Used every morning, that snapshot builds a habit of noticing — and noticing is where most change starts.
A routine that works on the free version:
Measure once, at the same time each morning, before coffee and before your phone.
When the app asks what happened, answer — a tag, typed or tapped: a late dinner, a hard workout, a bad night, a difficult conversation.
Read your morning result — and Health, Battery and Stress, if your version shows them — before planning the day, and plan the heavy things for the days they allow.
Export once a month if you want to keep a record.
What Premium adds to that routine: more than one measurement a day in Journal, so you can compare morning and evening; the 21 metrics behind each reading; sleep analysis that says how well you recovered, not just how long you were in bed; weekly and monthly trends; experiments that test a habit on you; and a history that does not disappear after a month.
What neither version can do: tell you what a symptom means, replace a blood pressure cuff (you enter the readings yourself), or prove that one habit caused one bad day. Patterns in the app are connections worth discussing with your doctor, not evidence of a cause.
